ExcursionsRoyal Leamington Spa & free time in Market Bosworth
Royal Leamington Spa is a beautiful and prosperous town located in the heart of Warwickshire. With a current population of around 50,000, the town’s growth was largely due to the natural spa springs that were discovered and commercialised in the nineteenth century. This Regency town boasts magnificent tree-lined avenues, pleasant squares and the Royal Pump Rooms which house this elegant town’s museum and art gallery.
Melton Mowbray & Stamford
Melton Mowbray is a quintessential English market town and renowned for its fine food and drink, particularly its pork pies and Stilton© Cheese. It is no wonder that Melton Mowbray is known as the ‘Rural Capital of Food’. But there's more to Melton Mowbray than food. Twinlakes Park offers a great day out for the family with water rides, animals and picnic areas to enjoy. The local Carnegie Museum is an interactive centre where children can enjoy learning about the local area and see exhibits such as the two-headed calf! The town itself is steeped in history and there is a walking heritage tour that explains the history of the town - there are even two apps available to make sure you don't miss any of the sites of interest.
Stamford is regarded as one of the finest stone towns in England, with the pretty facades of the buildings a favourite for filmmakers. Seek out tranquillity on a walk along the River Welland, and discover a variety of speciality shops along the town's narrow alleyways and hidden courtyards.
