Exeter (on outward journey)
Exeter is an ancient city on the River Exe in southwest England. Dating back to the Roman era, the Exeter City Walls surround its centre and Gothic Exeter Cathedral. Exeter Castle, a Norman landmark, overlooks leafy Northernhay and Rougemont Gardens. To their west, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (RAMM) displays fine art and costumes. The vaulted, medieval Underground Passages snake beneath the city making this a fascinating city to explore at any time of the year. There is also great shopping in Princesshay and Gandy Street.
Dartington village & Dartmoor
Dartington is a small beautiful village just outside of Totnes. Famous for its college and the 1,200 acre Dartington Estate, there is something for everyone with beautiful gardens, shops and cafes.
Dartmoor National Park Dartmoor is one of the UK’s greatest wilderness, an inspiring landscape of heather moors and rugged tors. It was designated a National Park in 1951, and has a fascinating history where you can find mysterious hut circles, standing stones and ancient woodlands. There is always a lot to do in Dartmoor from walking the moors, meeting the feisty Dartmoor ponies and visiting the secluded quaint villages.
Clifton village (on return journey)
Clifton Village is a beautiful suburb of Bristol, tucked away from the hubbub of city life and located just a five-minute drive away from the centre. It is famous for some of Bristol’s most iconic landmarks, such as the Suspension Bridge and Observatory. There is always something to see and do, from shopping to dining, gardens and beautiful walks.
