Cirencester & Bourton-on-the-Water

(often referred to as the Capital of the Cotswolds) was the second largest town in Britain during Roman times and iIn later years it was a very prosperous medieval wool town. Cirencester's market square is dominated by the cathedral-like Parish Church of St. John Baptist (one of the largest in England). The large south porch with its impressive fan vaulting was built about 1490. Cirencester's market town status was mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086. The town has its own farmers' market whilst crafts and antiques markets are also regular attractions.

Set in the heart of the Cotswolds, Bourton-on-the-Water straddles the River Windrush with its series of elegant low bridges beside neat tree-shaded greens and tidy stone banks. Standing back from the river are traditional Cotswolds buildings, many of which are now tourist shops for the day-trippers and visitors.

Oxford Guided Walking Tour

One of our most famous historic cities, take time to discover the history and heritage of Oxford, home to 1,500 listed buildings from every major period of British architectural history from the 11th century onwards. The centre looks like an enchanted fairytale city – making Oxford is a firm favourite of filmmakers from all over the world, from Harry Potter to Inspector Morse along with having inspired countless famous writers over the centuries. Oxford is flat and compact, with many of its major attractions, such as the University of Oxford and its 38 colleges, Bodleian Library, the museums, and Oxford Castle Unlocked right in the centre – perfect to explore on foot.
