Mercure Wolverhampton Goldthorn Hotel
The Mercure Wolverhampton Goldthorn Hotel is the ideal stay for guests looking to enjoy a short break in the heart of the Midlands. The central location means it is a great place for exploring local attractions. The cocktail bar and lounge are perfect for evening drinks and the restaurant serves up a fine selection of dishes. The rooms offer en-suite bath and shower, flatscreen TV with Freeview, free WiFi and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities
Itinerary
Day 1After catching the coach at one of our local pick up points, sit back and relax as we head to Shrewsbury. Enjoy some freetime in the town before we enjoy a Cruise on the river Severn. Mid afternoon we will meet the coach, which will take up to Mercure hotel to check in and enjoy the included evening meal.
Day 2
After a hearty breakfast, we will make our way to the city of Birmingham. Enjoy freetime at the world famous Frankfurt Christmas Market. Once you've done your Christmas shopping and eaten Bratwursts we will return to the hotel for another evening meal
Day 3
Sadly we stay goodbye to out Mercure hotel and head home, but not before we stop at the historic town of Ludlow. We will rejoin the coach mid afternoon to continue our homeward journey, arriving back late afternoon/early evening.

Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market
Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market is the largest German-style Christmas Market outside Austria or Germany and is packed full of continental festive fayre and traditional goods that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. From the traditional German sausage and gluehwein stands through to the intricate lacework and porcelain, this is a great choice.
Shrewsbury with Cruise on the Severn
Shrewsbury is situated inside a loop of the River Serern which makes it the ideal place to enjoy a cruise. When you are not on the water you can soak up the history of the town, from the medieval castle built by William the Conqueror in 1067 or the Ditherington Flax Mill which is commonly regarded as 'the grandfather of the skyscraper.'
Ludlow
From its ancient castle to peaceful back streets, exploring the perfect historic town of Ludlow is a real pleasure. The lively feel combines with centuries of history, and the cafés, shops and fascinating architecture means a visit to Ludlow will not disappoint. Ludlow is home to a varied range of independently owned shops, including family businesses where you can find gifts, antiques, clothes, books and more. Why not also take time to visit the castle, museums and church?
