You’ll have free time this evening to explore the famous Christmas Markets in the festively decorated Old Town – look out for the magnificent Christmas Tree on Münsterplatz with its beautiful decorations! You are free to dine out in one of the many restaurants in Basel this evening.

  • Day 2 - Bern with Guided Tour & Christmas Markets

After an included breakfast at the hotel, we take the train from Basel to Switzerland’s delightful capital city – Bern. Here you’ll find a wonderful festive atmosphere within the UNESCO World Heritage Old Town. Every year, Bern comes alive at Christmas with a delightful assortment of Christmas Markets dotted around its historic centre.

We enjoy a guided tour of Bern followed by some free time to explore before we take the train to Montreux. On arrival, our luggage will be waiting for us, and we enjoy dinner at the hotel this evening.

Here you have the option to visit Santa’s House if you wish! We enjoy an included lunch at a restaurant at the summit before returning to Montreux.

Montreux is nestled in a sheltered bay on Lake Geneva, surrounded by snow-covered Alps. You’ll have time to soak up the magical Christmas atmosphere and enjoy the fairy tale ambience of one of Switzerland's most beautiful Christmas markets. There are more than 150 decorated chalets with gifts and tasty hand-made treats. There's nothing better than warming up with a glass of mulled wine along the Grand Rue!

From here, we take the local bus and cable car to Glacier 3000 where you’ll have free time.

The various look-out points at Glacier 3000 offer incredible views of 24 snow-capped peaks above 4000 metres including the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, the Matterhorn and even Mont Blanc in the distance. If you’re feeling brave, you could visit the Peak Walk by Tissot – the only suspension bridge in the world between two peaks! We return to Montreux and enjoy dinner at the hotel this evening.
