Itinerary

5 Day Itinerary

  • Day 1

Local departure by coach or Door-to-Door Service, then on to Devon and The Park Hotel in Barnstaple for a four-night stay.

    Meals - Dinner

  • Day 2 - RHS Garden Rosemoor & Bideford

Located in a serene Devon Valley, RHS Rosemoor is a captivating garden maintained by the Royal Horticultural Society. Spanning over 65 acres, it presents an enchanting mix of formal and casual plant arrangements. From the vibrant blooms of its celebrated rose gardens to its array of both native and exotic trees in the woodland areas, RHS Rosemoor is a verdant haven that promises a distinct botanical experience in each corner.

Later in the day, our journey takes us to Bideford, a picturesque port town by the River Torridge. This town, with its rich maritime history, boasts the iconic Long Bridge and meandering backstreets dotted with antique shops. The bustling Pannier Market, operating since 1884, is a focal point of local life. Situated near the coast and surrounded by lush landscapes, Bideford exudes a truly unique charm.

    Meals - Breakfast, Dinner

  • Day 3 - Lynton & Lynmouth

Today, we explore the captivating twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, jewels of the rugged Exmoor coastline. While Lynmouth bustles at sea level, brimming with unique shops and a charming harbour, Lynton stands majestically atop the cliffs, providing unparalleled views of the North Devon coast. The towns are connected by the Cliff Railway – the world's highest and steepest fully water-powered Victorian railway (extra charges payable locally).

After a morning of exploration, we relax in the afternoon at the elegant Park Hotel. Perhaps you’d like to sip cocktails on the sun terrace and take in views of the Rock Park?

    Meals - Breakfast, Dinner

  • Day 4 - Clovelly*

Experience the uniqueness of Clovelly, an ancient fishing village that stands out from the rest. Perched on a 400-foot cliff, Clovelly is renowned for its vehicle-free streets. Instead, locals rely on traditional means like donkeys and sledges to navigate the steep, cobbled pathways. Wander at your own pace, making your way down to the harbour where a serene pebble beach and crystal-clear waters await.

As you ascend, consider pausing at a local pub to savour fresh seafood or indulge in a traditional cream tea. Alternatively, for a more effortless return, opt for a local Land Rover ride to whisk you back to the top (extra charges payable locally, subject to availability).
