Itinerary

  • Day 1

Local departure by coach then to the Paris area for an overnight stay.

  • Day 2

Today we head south into Spain, to the Costa del Maresme for an overnight stay.

  • Day 3 - Barcelona

Today we head to Barcelona. The city has a delightfully relaxed atmosphere – particularly along the Ramblas, where you can join the locals casually strolling along the tree-lined walkway, perhaps stopping to enjoy the entertainment offered by the many mime-artists and musicians.

An optional guided sightseeing tour, by coach and on foot, will introduce you to the most important sights of the city, including the Eixample district as well as the huge Olympic stadium.

We finish the tour on foot at the bustling Las Ramblas, which runs from the Plaza de Catalunya to the Christopher Columbus monument near the harbour at Port Vell.

Here you can explore the cafés and see the mime artists, and from here you will be ideally situated to explore independently the 'Barri Gotic', or Gothic Quarter in the centre of the Old Town, where some of buildings date back to medieval and Roman times.

Later, we board the ferry for the overnight sailing to Majorca. Accommodation is in en-suite cabins.

    Meals - Breakfast

  • Day 4 - To Cala Millor

This morning we arrive in Palma de Majorca and transfer to our hotel in Cala Millor on Majorca’s east coast for a six-night stay.

Cala Millor has grown from a small traditional Majorcan fishing village into a popular resort, where you can enjoy the shops, restaurants and bars.

    Meals - Dinner

  • Day 5 - La Costa Rocosa – Valldemossa & Soller

Join us today on our included excursion to explore ‘the Rocky Coast’, La Costa Rocosa.

We head to the old mountain town of Valldemossa, situated on the slopes of the Tramuntana Mountains. Famous inhabitants of the area have included Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones.

We also visit Soller, which is set in a lush valley of orange groves between the mountains and the Mediterranean. Relax in one of the cafés n Placa Constitucid, soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying the tapas bars.

    Meals - Breakfast, Dinner

  • Day 6 - Arta and Cuevas del Drach

Today’s included excursion takes us to visit a weekly market, then to Arta, a pretty, historic town framed by the mountains of the Llevant Natural Park.

Later, we continue to the legendary ‘Dragon’s Cave’, Cuevas del Drach (entrance included). There are three main chambers: Black Cave, White Cave and Luis Salvator Cave.

A steep flight of steps through the caves ends at Lake Martel, considered to be one of the largest subterranean lakes in the world, with beautiful limestone formations, including stalagmites and stalactites.

As part of your journey underground, visitors are accompanied by the sound of musicians performing classical music every hour on a boat.

*Please note that unfortunately the Cuevas del Drach may not suitable for passengers with walking difficulties due to the number of steps. You will need to wear appropriate footwear for the Cuevas del Drach as some areas of the cave floor may be wet.

    Meals - Breakfast, Dinner

  • Day 7 - Free Time or Alcudia and Pollença

Join us on our optional full-day excursion to explore the north of the island.

We start with a visit to Pollenca then Port de Pollenca where there will be free time to obtain lunch.

We continue to the popular resort of Alcudia.

    Meals - Breakfast, Dinner

  • Day 8 - Free Time or Palma & Guided Sightseeing

Join our full-day optional excursion to Palma, the capital of the island. Despite having a modern appearance, Palma is deeply enriched with history and culture.

The origins of the city can be traced back to before Roman times, and even today, inhabitants of homes in the old quarter are often still discovering Roman remains less than a metre beneath the ground.

Our guided sightseeing tour will introduce you to the sights of the city, including the Castell de Bellver, the only castle in Spain that is totally circular in design, and the huge Gothic cathedral, which overlooks the waterfront.

Afterwards, there will be free time for you to explore the city further at your own pace. The city boasts wide, palm-lined promenades, dotted with pavement cafés, with the main hub being the Passeig des Born.
