12-Day Itinerary
Day 1
Regional departure by coach or Door-to-Door service, then to Plymouth for the overnight crossing to Santander.
Please note: When you board the ferry at Portsmouth/Plymouth, you will require a small overnight bag containing any essential items such as medication. This small bag (no larger than a small rucksack) is counted as part of your overall luggage allowance.
Day 2
We arrive in Santander then travel to our overnight hotel in Avila.

Day 3
We continue southwards with a leisurely drive to our hotel in Seville for a three-night stay.

Day 4 - Seville
Today we spend an included full day in Seville. To help you discover Seville’s fantastic sights and stories, join our local guide for a half-day optional walking tour. The city is over 2000 years old, and has a very rich architectural and monumental history. We visit the Barrio Santa Cruz area, a maze of narrow streets, picturesque alleys and hidden delights. We also include a visit to the Alcazar Royal Palace and the cathedral.
For the rest of your time, you are free to relax and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this lovely city at your own pace.

Day 5 - Cádiz & Jerez with Wine Tasting
Today our excursion takes us to the old coastal town of Cádiz. Here, we include a guided walking tour of the centre which is surrounded almost entirely by water, and offers a romantic assortment of charming streets, municipal beaches and traditional taverns. We explore the city's cathedral (entrance not included) and monuments, which are famous throughout Spain as the place where, in defiance of Napoleon's siege, the provisional government was set up with its own liberal Constitution. There will be free time for you to discover the town at your leisure.
We also include a visit to a winery close to Jerez to enjoy some wonderful tastings!

Day 6 - Córdoba
We leave Seville and head eastwards to Granada for a three-night stay. En route, we visit Córdoba, where you can join our optional guided walking tour. Córdoba was once the largest city in Europe and its incredible history is represented by the beautifully preserved buildings and squares. It is home to the famous Mezquita, a 12th century mosque, which dominates the town centre and is a symbol of worldly and sophisticated Islamic culture (entrance is included).

Day 7 - Free Time or Alhambra Palace Guided Tour
Enjoy a full day at leisure in Granada or, alternatively, join our optional guided tour of the vast Alhambra Palace, which dominates the skyline with the snowy peaks of the Sierra Nevada mountains in the background.

Day 8 - Free Time or Scenic Andalucía
Relax in Granada or join our optional excursion to visit some of the most picturesque mountain villages of the Sierra Nevada region.
We visit Lanjarón at the heart of the Sierra Nevada National Park – the village is famous for its medicinal waters, quaint Moorish style streets and 16th-century heritage.
We also journey onwards to the coast where we enjoy some free time in the charming town of Salobrena. The town radiates deep Andalusían culture, offering the perfect climate and a cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Day 9 - Úbeda & Baeza
We leave Granada this morning and head north to Toledo for an overnight stay. During our journey, we pause to visit the picturesque village of Úbeda. Surrounded by olive groves, it has a lovely, relaxing atmosphere, with Renaissance churches, palaces and mansions to admire.
We also enjoy some time in the university town of Baeza, a haven of tranquillity and the perfect location to complete our Andalusían sightseeing!

Day 10 - San Sebastián
We travel northwards through Spain and into the Basque country, pausing en route at the bustling town of San Sebastián, before arriving at our overnight hotel in the Biarritz area.

We continue to the Paris area for an overnight stay.

Return home.

Accommodation
You will stay for one night in the Avila area of northern Spain, then three nights in Seville at Hotel Bellavista, or similar. You will then stay for three nights in the Granada area at the Hotel Ma Princesa Ana or similar, followed by an overnight stay in Toledo.
On the overnight ferry sailing, accommodation will be in en suite inside cabins (meals at extra cost).
Overnight stays in Biarritz area and northern France will be in city-style hotels.
