• Day 1

  Fly to Kochi in India.

• Day 2 - Kochi

  Upon arrival in Kochi (formerly known as Cochin), you’ll be warmly greeted by your local guide and transferred by coach to your hotel. Take some time at leisure to settle in and familiarise yourself with your surroundings.

  In the evening, enjoy a welcome gathering hosted by your expert guide, who will introduce you to the rich history and vibrant culture of Kerala. This engaging introduction will set the tone for your journey, followed by a delicious dinner at your hotel.

• Day 3 - Guided Heritage Walk of Fort Kochi, Matthancherry & Kathakali Traditional Dance Performance

  This morning, depart your hotel for a guided Heritage Walk of Fort Kochi, where you'll explore the charming nooks and crannies of this historic coastal town. Discover the iconic Chinese fishing nets, still in use today, and visit landmarks such as the St. Francis Church – the oldest European church in India – and the striking Santa Cruz Basilica, with plenty of opportunities to capture memorable photos along the way.

  Next, enjoy a short drive to Mattancherry, where you'll explore the Dutch Palace, renowned for its stunning murals, and the Jewish Synagogue, a testament to Cochin’s rich multicultural past.
  
  The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure. Whether you prefer shopping for local handicrafts, sipping chai by the waterfront, or delving deeper into Cochin’s art and café culture, your guide will be happy to offer personalised suggestions.

  In the evening, experience the captivating world of Kathakali, Kerala’s iconic classical dance-drama. Your guide will accompany you to this mesmerising performance, where elaborate costumes, vivid makeup, intricate gestures, and expressive storytelling come together in a truly unforgettable show.

• Day 4 - Kochi – Munnar

  This morning, leave the coastal charm of Kochi behind as you journey into the lush, rolling hills of Munnar. The scenic drive, which takes approximately 4.5 to 5 hours, offers a vibrant glimpse into rural life in Kerala – full of colour, activity, and changing landscapes.

  Upon arrival in Munnar, settle in and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Nestled at the confluence of three rivers, Munnar is South India’s largest tea-growing region and a haven of peace and greenery.

  As the day cools, consider taking a leisurely evening stroll through Munnar’s bustling local market. Discover stalls brimming with fresh produce, fragrant spices, handmade chocolates, and an array of local delicacies. The nearby fish market and colourful vegetable displays offer a fascinating look into everyday life in this highland town.

• Day 5 - Munnar Guided Tour with Tea Museum & Srishti Welfare Center

  This morning, embark on a guided tour of Munnar, beginning with a visit to a local tea plantation and the fascinating Munnar Tea Museum. Learn about the rich history of tea cultivation in the region and observe the process from leaf to cup.

  Next, visit the inspiring Srishti Welfare Center, a community initiative empowering local women. Here, you’ll witness eco-friendly techniques used to create natural dyes from plants, bark, and roots. These are transformed into beautifully crafted items such as dyed fabrics, handmade paper bags, envelopes, and bookmarks – perfect as thoughtful, sustainable souvenirs.

  Enjoy the afternoon at your own pace. You may wish to browse for locally grown tea or spices, take a scenic walk to one of the nearby waterfalls, or simply relax in the cool mountain air. Your local guide will be happy to recommend activities tailored to your interests.

• Day 6 - Thekkady with Periyar Spice Garden Guided Tour

  After breakfast, we begin the scenic transfer from Munnar to Thekkady, a journey of approximately 4.5 to 5 hours. Along the way, soak in the breathtaking views of emerald-green hills and terraced plantations. The route winds through lush landscapes where you may witness the harvesting of cardamom, rubber, and other fragrant local spices – a true feast for the senses.

  Upon arrival, embark on a guided tour of the Periyar Spice Garden, where you’ll discover a fascinating array of spices growing in their natural habitat. Stroll through the aromatic streets and winding paths of Kumily, where the air is thick with the scents of cloves, nutmeg, and black pepper.

  During the tour, enjoy the simple beauty of cardamom blossoms, breathe in the sweet warmth of cinnamon, and feel the cool breeze rustling through the spice-laden plantations. There will also be an opportunity to taste some of the spices, adding a delightful sensory experience to your visit.

• Day 7 - Periyar National Park & Periyar Lake Boat Ride

  This morning, set out on an unforgettable excursion into the heart of Periyar National Park, one of India’s most celebrated wildlife sanctuaries. Nestled in the Western Ghats, the park is home to an array of wildlife including tigers, elephants, leopards, and the rare lion-tailed macaque, all thriving amid lush forest and grassland.

  Enjoy a leisurely boat ride across the serene waters of Periyar Lake, surrounded by misty hills and dense jungle. Your expert guide will help you spot a variety of exotic birds, as well as wildlife gathering at the water’s edge. Stay alert—you may just catch a glimpse of the elusive Bengal tiger.

  This afternoon is yours to spend at leisure. Breathe in the crisp mountain air and unwind in the tranquil surroundings of your hotel, perhaps with a cup of locally grown tea or a gentle nature walk.

• Day 8 - Scenic Drive to Kumarakom & Traditional Kettuvallam Journey

  After breakfast, you'll travel with your guide to Kumarakom, a tranquil village nestled beside the serene Vembanad Lake. The scenic drive takes approximately 4.5 hours, passing through lush countryside and quiet villages.

  Upon arrival, step aboard your deluxe traditional 'Kettuvallam' houseboat, a beautifully crafted vessel with a thatched roof and elegant wooden interiors. Settle in for a truly unique overnight journey through the enchanting backwaters of Kerala.

  As you cruise at a gentle pace, watch the landscape unfold – coconut palms, emerald rice fields, and small villages lining the waterways, where daily life continues in rhythm with the river. Enjoy the peaceful ambiance, spot birds in flight, and wave to friendly locals along the banks.

• Day 9 - Free Time in Kochi

  After breakfast, you will disembark your houseboat at a designated point, where your vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to Kochi (approx. 1 hour/50 km drive).

  Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Whether you choose to relax at the hotel, explore nearby sights, or shop for last-minute souvenirs, this is a perfect time to unwind and reflect on your Kerala journey.
