14 Day Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Fly to Beijing Airport.

  • Day 2 - Beijing

Arrive in Beijing where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours at leisure.

Beijing, Jing for short, is a metropolis in northern China and the capital of the country. Lying 70 mi (102 km) west of the Bohai Sea, it borders Hebei Province to the north, west, south, and a small section in the east, and Tianjin to the southeast. This city is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and motorways passing through. It is also the destination of many international flights arriving in China, and is regarded as the political, educational and cultural centre of the country.

With a history of more than 3000 years, it has been an integral part of China's past. There is scarcely a major building that doesn't have at least some national historical significance. Being the capital of China for around 850 years, it is one of the four Great Ancient Capitals of China, and offers a wonderful array of attractions. No other city in the nation attracts more travellers!

  • Day 3 - Beijing

After breakfast at the hotel, we will start our tour at around 9:00 a.m. Firstly, we will visit the Tiananmen Square that witnessed the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Tiananmen Square is of one the world’s most impressive public plazas and stands at the centre of Beijing. Then walk to visit the Forbidden City and explore the halls and gardens of the largest ancient palatial structure in the world, the best preserved imperial palace in China, and a site of great historical importance (excl. exhibitions).

Enjoy lunch at an authentic Beijing flavor restaurant and after, visit the Temple of Heaven, where emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) and Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911) held the heaven worship ceremony. Finally, we will enjoy the tea ceremony and taste Chinese tea in an authentic tea house.

We finish the tour and get back to our hotel at around 17:00 p.m.

    Meals - Breakfast, Lunch

  • Day 4 - The Great Wall of China

After breakfast, you will be met by your guide at around 8:00 a.m. and taken to the Great Wall of Mutianyu section (about a 1.5 hour drive). The Mutianyu Great Wall is one of the best-preserved and well-known Great Wall sections. It has breathtaking scenery but less tourists.

We will then visit Cloisonné Factory. Cloisonné, French for 'cell', is where thin wires are applied to form raised barriers, which contain different areas of enamel applied above the original metal form. An ancient metalworking technique, it is a multi-step enamel process used to produce jewellery, vases and other decorative items.

Lunch will be allocated in a local Chinese restaurant in the wall area. In the afternoon, we will visit the Summer Palace, which was the summer resort of the Qing royal family. Now it is the most intact, best-preserved and largest of its kind of classical gardens in the country.

We finish the tour and get back to our hotel at around 17:00 p.m.

    Meals - Breakfast, Lunch

  • Day 5 - Bullet Train to Xi'an

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the railway station for high-speed train to Xi’an (about a 5 hour journey). Upon arrival in Xi’an, we will visit the ancient city wall of Xi’an, which is the most complete city wall to survive in the country, as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. You will also walk around the Muslim Quarter where you can find restaurants and all kinds of Muslim markets.

Xi'an, located in central-northwest China, records the great changes of the country, just like a living history book. Called Chang'an (meaning the eternal city) in ancient times, it is one of the birthplaces of the ancient Chinese civilisation in the Yellow River basin area. As the eastern terminal of the Silk Road, and the site of the famous Terracotta Warriors of the Qin Dynasty, the city has won a reputation all over the world.

  • Day 7 - Xi'an - Chengdu

After breakfast, you will be taken to the railway station for high-speed train to Chengdu (about a 4 hour journey). The Wide and Narrow Alley is one of Chengdu’s historical and cultural reserves.

Chengdu, the capital of China's southwest Sichuan Province, is famed for being the home of cute giant pandas. We will visit the Giant Panda Research Base of Dujiangyan, which is the only professional organisation in the world for research on the prevention and control of giant pandas. China Giant Panda Protection and Research centre has three bases, respectively is Wolong, Dujiangyan and Ya'an Bifengxia. For the panda, they are found only in the Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu provinces. In total there are fewer than 2000, of which 70% are distributed within the territory of Sichuan Province.

Lunch will be arranged in a local Chinese restaurant.

Then, transfer to the railway station for a high-speed train journey to Chongqing. On arrival, you will be transferred to the pier and embark the Yangtze River Cruise.

Chongqing, the youngest municipality that established in 1997 directly under the central government in China, is also an extra large city in its administrative division and population. As a city in the mountains, it is surrounded by two rivers and has high-rises and buildings in graceful disorder. Chongqing enjoys the tropical, moist climate of the central Asia, with cloudy days and less frost and snow. In spring and autumn, the city is often enveloped by heavy fog, hence the name the 'capital of fog'.
