Day 1
Local departure by coach, then to our hotel in Belgium or Northern France for a three-night stay.
Day 2 - Ghent & Ypres
This afternoon, our included excursion takes us to the charming historical city of Ghent. Here, over 100 festive stalls and chalets are spread out from Sint-Baafsplein in areas such as the Botermarkt,and Klein Turkije, to the end of the Korenmarkt. Wander among the stalls selling snacks and drinks, decorative and craft items, taking in the festive sights and why not sample a warming gluhwein? Ghent manages to combine medieval architectural wealth and idyllic charm within its city walls. From St. Michael’s bridge there is a wonderful view of the skyline of Ghent, which includes the three impressive towers of St. Nicholas’ Church and Sint Baafs Cathedral with its elaborate stone and marble naves.This evening, join our optional visit to Ypres, and see the moving Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate.

Day 3 - Bruges
Today we head to the charming medieval city of Bruges on our included excursion. Bruges boasts quite a unique magic at this time of year, with its stunning buildings including the Gothic clock, town halls and medieval belfry that dominate the main square which will be beautifully illuminated and dressed in festive garlands. You will have free time to explore the Christmas Markets, which are magnificently brought to life, offering an assortment of handmade gifts, decorations, and food, including a tempting array of Belgian chocolates made especially for Christmas.

Accommodation
You will stay for three or four nights at the 4-star Hotel Alize in Mouscron. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but snacks are available from the bar. There are a number of restaurants and bars nearby.
Due to demand, we may use other hotels of a similar standard, such as the Mercure Lille Airport or Novotel Lille Airport.
