Itinerary

  • Day 1

Local departure by coach, then to Aardenburg in the Netherlands for a four-night stay.

  • Day 2 - Bruges

This afternoon we enjoy an included excursion to Bruges, often referred to as the Venice of the North. With a network of beautiful canals, the charming medieval city of Bruges, with its quaint, historic buildings, is one of the architectural gems of Europe.

The opportunity should be taken to visit a factory, where those delicious Belgian chocolates are made, as well as watching lace makers at work creating their intricate designs.

Browsing in the fine selection of shops, looking for bargains in the marketplace and enjoying a relaxing canal cruise, there’s plenty to enjoy in the marvellous city of Bruges.

    Meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  • Day 3 - Free Time or Knokke Heist

Join us for an optional morning visit to the Belgian seaside resort of Knokke-Heist, with its lovely beaches, art galleries and renowned Lippenslaan shopping street. Enjoy a stroll by the sea, take in the shops, or why not sample some local products such as 'Babelutte' (paper twist-wrapped butterscotch), or 'Isabelleke' a tart made with rice pudding, frangipane, chocolate, plums and apricots.

    Meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  • Day 4 - Free Time or Ghent

This afternoon, you can join our optional excursion to Ghent. The ancient capital of Flanders is fast becoming one of Europe’s most popular short break destinations.

Ghent is a city of great style and excellence with a fascinating medieval centre. When it was linked to the North Sea by canal, Ghent became a prosperous port and has left a wonderful legacy of stunning medieval architecture, splendid churches, imposing castles and historic monuments.

With an extensive network of picturesque canals, many elegant shops, and a Belgian chocolate factory, Ghent has become a worthy rival to its neighbour, Bruges.
