Itinerary

5 Day Itinerary

  • Day 1

Local departure by coach or Door-to-Door Service, then we travel to Cheshire and onto Warner Alvaston Hall for a four-night stay. Enjoy a delicious evening meal and fantastic entertainment.

    Meals - Dinner

  • Day 2 - Chester

Step into the medieval charm of Chester, a city steeped in rich heritage, showcased by its ancient Roman Amphitheatre, city walls, and the iconic cathedral. Don't miss the opportunity to capture a moment with the Eastgate Clock, the nation's second-most-photographed timepiece, trailing only Big Ben. This exquisite landmark was erected to honour Queen Victoria's 1897 Diamond Jubilee.

Chester's Roman roots resonate throughout the city, especially in its renowned 'Rows' galleries, where medieval half-timbered buildings are home to exquisite boutiques, restaurants, and cafés. For those seeking a different perspective, consider a scenic cruise along the tranquil River Dee.

    Meals - Breakfast, Dinner

  • Day 3 - Nantwich & Market Drayton

Today we visit nearby Nantwich, a place where Tudor architecture thrives, with numerous half-timbered structures lining its streets. The Parish Church of St. Mary’s, an emblem of the town’s rich heritage, features wonderful medieval craftsmanship.

We then visit Market Drayton, a pretty Shropshire town which beautifully combines historical charm with rural tranquillity. Famed for its Georgian architecture, with many red-brick and black-and-white timbered buildings dotting its landscape, the town’s past is closely linked with the gingerbread industry.

    Meals - Breakfast, Dinner

  • Day 4 - Shrewsbury

Today we venture into Shropshire and visit Shrewsbury, a town nestled within a loop of the River Severn. Birthplace of Charles Darwin, it is home to over 660 listed buildings, including Shrewsbury Castle, Shrewsbury Abbey, and a significant number of timber-framed black-and-white buildings. Why not visit the wonderful town centre or enjoy a boat trip along the River Severn?
