Itinerary

7 Day Itinerary

  • Day 1

Local departure by coach or Door-to-Door service, then to Belgium for an overnight stay.

  • Day 2

We continue north through Germany and into Denmark to reach the outskirts of Copenhagen for three nights.

    Meals - Breakfast, Dinner

  • Day 3 - Copenhagen

Our included excursion takes us into central Copenhagen to enjoy the wonderful Christmas Market at Tivoli Gardens (entrance included). Tivoli Gardens is one of the oldest amusement parks in the world and attracts over 4 million visitors each year.

A visit to Tivoli at this time of year really is a special experience as Christmas is a cherished tradition amongst Copenhageners. It takes approximately 500,000 lights to create the special atmosphere in the gardens during the festive season.

There will be ample free time for you to explore at your leisure. The stalls and decorations take inspiration from Danish and Scandinavian customs and, of course, Father Christmas and reindeer all add to the Christmas feel.

    Meals - Breakfast

  • Day 4 - Malmö

Today we head across the incredible Øresund Bridge into Sweden and to Malmö on our included excursion. The bridge is approximately 16km long and is an important road and rail link between Sweden and Denmark.

Malmö itself is Sweden’s third largest city and at the heart of the Old Town or Gamla Staden, you will find lots of cafes and small shops. Be sure to see the Rådhuset (Town Hall) originally built in 1546. Today it boasts a Dutch Renaissance style façade, which was an addition to the building in 1864-1869. There will be time for you to explore all the city has to offer.

    Meals - Breakfast

  • Day 5 - Lübeck

We leave Copenhagen and head into Germany to the Old Hanseatic City of Lubeck. Situated on the River Trave, Lubeck is one of Germany’s major ports. It is also listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site due to its Gothic red brick architecture.

Festive Christmas lights and beautifully decorated Christmas trees conjure up a magical atmosphere in Lübeck’s streets and squares.

Enjoy time exploring the markets located next to the Town Hall. You will find plenty of small stalls offering a variety of Christmas arts and crafts, plus regional products, decorations, and toys.

Enjoy a glass of warming mulled wine whilst you shop for those all-important gifts. We continue to our hotel in northern Germany overnight stay.

    Meals - Breakfast, Dinner

  • Day 6 - Münster

Today we head south to Belgium for an overnight stay. En route we pause at the German city of Munster, where there will be free time to explore the Christmas market.

Set against the charming backdrop of the illuminated old quarter, Mϋnster’s Christmas markets are all within a stone’s throw from each other. The cheerily lit stalls offer a range of toys, decorations and crafts as well as jewellery and tasty treats.

The largest and oldest of the Christmas markets can be found in and around the Town Hall courtyard beneath a romantic canopy of lights. Christmas Lights Market, located at the food of the St. Lamberti church, is home to Munster’s largest Christmas tree. From here head to the Christmas Village centred around the Kiepenkerl statue, before heading to the Aegidii Christmas market designed to appeal to families. Here you will find the beautiful nativity scene and the 6 metre high wooden pyramid.
