After breakfast, our local guide will meet us at our hotel and begin a two-hour walking tour of Cologne, taking in all the main sights.

Cologne’s history traces back more than 2,000 years, when it was founded as a Roman colony. It has since developed into a beautiful cosmopolitan city, and your local guide will ensure you see the best of this wonderful city.

The rest of the day is free for you to explore the many Christmas markets! The hive of festive activity takes place around the cathedral and old town, where you will find a maze of pretty stalls offering outstanding arts and crafts. There are also several smaller markets to enjoy including the Harbour Christmas Markets held on the Rhine, with snowy white pagoda tents reminiscent of a ship’s sails.

This evening is free for you to dine out in one of the many restaurants Cologne has to offer.

This morning, we travel by train to the charming city of Bonn to visit the famous Christmas market. Be sure to see the many famous sights, including the old City Hall and the Münster, the city’s oldest church.

Every year, Bonn's Christmas fair conjures up an amazing festive atmosphere! Here, you can browse the many stalls whilst enjoying Gluhwein, gingerbread, potato pancakes and sausages.

We return to Cologne by train. The evening is yours to dine out in one of the many restaurants nearby.
