7 Day Itinerary
Day 1
Regional departure by coach or Door–to-Door service, then to Belgium for an overnight stay.
Day 2
Travel through Germany to our hotel on the shores of the beautiful Chiemsee Lake for a four-night stay.

Day 3 - Herrenchiemsee
Today we explore the winter landscape of Lake Chiemsee. Often called “the Bavarian Sea” we take a boat to Herreninsel Island (“Men Island”), where we will visit the famous Herrenchiemsee Palace. This Palace was built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria in 1878 and was meant to be a replica of the Palace of Versailles, however it was never completed. We continue by boat to Frauenchiemsee Island. The smaller of the two islands, Frauenchiemsee houses a Benedictine nunnery and a small village. After free time we return by boat to Gstadt before returning to the hotel by coach.

Day 4 - Berchtesgaden Salt Mine
After breakfast we travel to Berchtesgaden where we visit one of Europe’s oldest salt mines. Dressed in miner’s clothing we take an exciting trip through the salt mine enjoying rides on a train, a raft and a slide. This afternoon we visit Schonau where you can see the picturesque Lake Königssee and enjoy the stunning views.Please note: Berchtesgaden Salt Mine is not wheelchair/scooter accessible, as there is no lift.

Day 5 - Salzburg
Today we include a visit to Salzburg, one of the most beautiful cities in Austria. Salzburg has something to offer every visitor, from lovely squares and medieval lanes to Gothic churches and quaint cafés. The city dates back to Celtic times and prospered in the Middle Ages on account of the salt industry from where the city derives its name. Many beautiful baroque buildings are a testament to the city’s illustrious past when it was controlled by the powerful and wealthy bishops. The city is also famed in the world of music, as the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and more recently as the setting for “The Sound of Music” and is also home to the Getriedegasse, one of the most beautiful shopping streets in Austria. On arrival in Salzburg we include a guided sightseeing tour to introduce you to the city before spending the afternoon at leisure.

Travel to Belgium for an overnight stay.

Overnight stays in Belgium will be in city-style hotels.
