Itinerary

5 Day Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Local departure by coach or Door-to-Door service, then by coach to Bouillon in Belgium for four nights.

  • Day 2 - Dinant, River Cruise & Brasserie Caracole Brewery Tour

    Join our included excursion to the beautiful town of Dinant, picturesquely situated on the River Meuse and dominated by the Citadel that sits high above the town and also the stunning onion-shaped dome of the Cathedral. We include a cruise along the river to Anseremme and back through the breathtaking scenery.

    In the afternoon, we drive to a local brewery at Brasserie Caracole where they still brew in the old-fashioned way in copper vats heated over a wood fire. We learn about the history of the brewery and the raw materials before enjoying a tasting of four of their beers. We then return to our hotel.

  • Day 3 - Durbuy

    Optional excursion to Durbuy, which dates from medieval times and is often referred to as the smallest town on earth with less than 400 residents. Durbuy is a stunning village in the rolling hills, which houses an excellent topiary gardens. Its pedestrian streets, winding between the ancient houses, are narrow and cobbled and a joy to explore. Enjoy lunch in one of the many excellent restaurants.

  • Day 4 - La Roche-en-Ardenne & Bouillon

    This morning we make the scenic journey to La Roche-en-Ardenne, a picturesque town with its own historic castle and interesting Battle of the Bulge Museum. We head back to Bouillon this afternoon for some free time. The town is dominated by its most important historic site, the majestic castle. The River Semois flows through the town ensuring the castle is surrounded by nature on all sides. As well as the castle, the River Semois encircles the historic centre of the town.

    Today we journey to Calais, then return home.
