Day 2 - Aachen
Today, our included excursion takes us to Aachen. Aachen’s historic Old Town is perfect for visitors to stroll around. Here you can discover the charm of the narrow lanes and historic squares, and be inspired by almost 2000 years of history. Aachen is widely known as the ‘Cathedral City’ and the ‘City of Fountains’, and owes its national recognition as a spa city to more than 30 hot springs, which generate a heat of up to 74 degrees.
Every year in the weeks prior to Christmas, the squares and alleys around Aachen’s town hall are transformed into a festive paradise of brilliant illumination and colourful splendour. The range of goods offered is overwhelming; from grand precious objects and modest trinkets, to the most impressive gifts and everyday utensils, it is no wonder that the Aachen Christmas Market has long since become a must for all the town's inhabitants and visitors alike!

All the flavours of Christmas are here, including spicy mulled wine and sweet smelling Christmas cakes.

Be sure to see many of the famous sights, including the old city hall and the Münster – the city’s oldest church.
Every year, Bonn's Christmas fair conjures up a festive atmosphere. Browse the many stalls whilst enjoying Gluhwein, gingerbread, potato pancakes, Koelsch beer and fried sausages.
