Itinerary
Day 1
Local departure by coach, then to Belgium for a four-night stay at the 5-star Martin's Château du Lac Hotel.
Day 2 - Bruges and Ghent
Our tour takes us first to medieval Bruges; a picturesque wonder of architecture with canals crossed by pretty hump-backed bridges, cobbled streets and shops selling the famous Belgian chocolate on almost every corner! The historic centre of Bruges is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and exploring its many sights and sounds is a joy to the senses.Later in the day, we head to Ghent. Affectionately known as the ‘Flower Capital of Belgium’, Ghent is a city of great elegance, boasting a wonderful legacy of medieval architecture and imposing monuments. One of Ghent's most popular attractions is the City Pavilion; an example of modern building made almost entirely from glass, wood and concrete which provides a stark contrast in design to the rest of the city.

Day 3 - Dinant & Namur
This morning we set off to Dinant, a beautiful town situated perfectly on the River Meuse. The skyline is dominated by the imposing citadel that sits high above the town, an ancient fortress that has lasted almost a millennium. The town itself contains the most impressive architecture in the Collégiale Notre Dame de Dinant; a Gothic marvel that boasts an impressive onion-shaped dome. On the way back to our hotel, we stop in the small town of Namur. At the confluence of the Meuse and Sambre Rivers, Namur is crowned by a vast citadel that was once one of Europe’s mightiest fortresses. The grounds of the citadel span 7km, with underground passages, gardens, stunning panoramic views of the valley and, strangely enough, a giant golden statue of a turtle. The old town offers many architectural treasures as well, including the baroque St. Loup Church which boasts marble columns and a richly carved ceiling.Meals - Breakfast
