Itinerary
Day 1
Local departure by coach then to Germany for a four night stay.
Day 2 - Boppard and Koblenz
Today, we head first to the charming riverside town of Boppard known for its excellent wines, attractive shops and flower filled Rhine promenades.
With its hills, valleys, quiet lanes and lively squares this once Roman fort is a true gem of the Rhine Valley.
We then make the short journey to the medieval town of Koblenz. A splendid photographic opportunity awaits us at the ‘Deutsches Eck’ where the Rhine meets the Moselle and free time to discover the main sights and sounds of Koblenz.

Day 3 - Moselle Wine Tasting & Cochem
Enjoy an optional excursion to discover some of the ‘pearls’ of the Moselle. A morning visit to the famous Anton Hammes Vineyard in Alken gives you the chance to sample the locally produced wines.
Our journey continues along the banks of the meandering Moselle Valley, to admire the fairy tale castles, which rise majestically from the vine-clad slopes.
We later spend time in picture postcard Cochem, arguably one of the prettiest of all the Moselle villages, which is overlooked by the impressive Reichsburg Castle.

Day 4 - Siebengebirge & Drachenfels
We join the cog railway, which will bring you to the summit of the Drachenfels. On its way to the top, the track manages an elevation gain of approx. 220 metres with inclines of up to 20%. The Drachenfels (Dragon Rock) is the landmark of the Siebengebirge (Seven Hills).
Later spend time in the Rhine town of Königswinter. We also include a river cruise to Linz with its narrow streets and well-preserved medieval half-timbered architecture.
