Itinerary

  • Day 1 UK - Rome
  • Italyis calling. Today you’ll fly into Rome and on arrival we will transferyou to your hotel. After a few hours to settle into your room you’ll join the restof the group in enjoying your first, delectable taste of Italy at a nearbylocal restaurant. 
  • Day 2 Rome
  • After breakfast, we'll unlock the secrets of the Eternal City on a panoramic walking tour, hosted by a knowledgeable Local Guide. The maze of picture-perfect streets unveils one incredible sight after another, from the wonderfully preserved Pantheon and impressive Spanish Steps to Piazza Navona, the city's most famous Baroque square. You'll also have the opportunity to toss a coin in the spectacular Trevi Fountain which dates back to the 17th century.
    In the afternoon, explore more of the city at your leisure or if you prefer, we offer optional 'skip-the-line' entrance to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. ​
  • Day 3 Siena - San Gimignano
  • Venture out of Rome and into Tuscany, stopping off at the stunning city of Siena. It's one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe and we'll get to admire its beautiful mansions, ornate palaces and cobbled streets on a walking tour. Take a break at Piazza del Campo where you'll have some free time to enjoy lunch at one of the city's sensational eateries.
    Continue on through San Gimignano and the lush landscapes of rural Tuscany to Montecatini Terme, where you'll relax over more tasty Italian fare.
  • Day 4 Castello del Trebbio
  • Tuscany's cuisine is one of the region's biggest draws, with the majority of dishes made from scratch using only the finest locally sourced produce. Today will be a real highlight for food lovers, as you'll not only get to visit the 12th century Castello del Trebbio but also enjoy a private cookery class.
    The picturesque historic estate is surrounded by lush vineyards and olive groves, the produce of which you'll get to sample over the course of the day. We will also learn all about the tastes and aromas of traditional Tuscan cooking and prepare our very own feast accompanied by some amazing local wines.  ​
  • Day 5 Montecatini Terme – at Leisure
  • Have a day completely to yourself or join our optional excursion to the stunning Cinque Terre. Translating to 'Five Lands', the coastal region is made up of five remote clifftop villages overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. As they are not all accessible by road, the trip will involve discovering two of them on a relaxing boat trip. ​
  • Day 6 Florence – Torre a Cona
  • You can't visit Tuscany without exploring its gorgeous capital, Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. Stroll across the enchanting Ponte Vecchio, admire the magnificent Duomo and marvel at the city's glorious architecture during a guided tour. You'll also spot plenty of gelato shops and have some time to wander around Florence's sensational food markets.
    After lunch, the Torre a Cona wine estate awaits you just outside the city. Owned by Count Rossi di Montelera we'll embark on a tour of the 18th century villa's historic wine cellars and sample four fine wines paired with local nibbles.
  • Day 7 Montecatini Terme – at Leisure
  • Soak up the sights, sounds and scents of Tuscany at your own pace with a whole day of leisure time. If you're keen to pack in more world-famous Italian landmarks, why not sign up to our optional Pisa & Lucca excursion?
    Learn about the Field of Miracles on a guided tour, including viewing the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa. Afterwards, stroll along historic Lucca's ancient ramparts that sit at the foot of the majestic Apuan Alps. Opera fans also have the option of catching a show at the prestigious Montecatini Opera Festival in the evening. 
  • Day 8 Orvieto – Rome
  • Before heading back to Rome, we'll break up the journey with a pitstop in Orvieto. The beautiful medieval town is best known for its mosaiced Duomo di Orvieto and subterranean city made up of over 1,000 underground caves. Orvieto's location on top of a cliff means we'll reach it via funicular railway.
    Make your own dinner plans or enjoy an optional dining experience followed by an opera performance in one of the area's atmospheric ancient churches. ​
  • Day 9 Rome - UK
  • Onyour final day, we’ll transfer you to the airport in Rome where you’ll catch yourflight back to the UK.
