  • Day 1 UK to Bordeaux
  • Today you'll fly to Bordeaux, where, on arrival we'll transfer you to your ship. Once you've settled into your cabin, you can meet the crew and your fellow travellers over a welcome cocktail before dinner.
  • Day 2 Pauillac
  • Pauillac is a pretty port town located in the heart of the Medoc wine region. We'll head here today, sailing along the Garonne and Gironde Rivers and passing by the unique islands of Cazeau and Patiras en route. On arrival, if you have pre-booked a helicopter flight, you'll see the Medoc from the sky as you enjoy a bird's-eye view of its famous chateaux and vineyards.
This afternoon, join your chosen optional excursion. You could take a tour of this prestigious wine growing region, which is home to around 1,500 vineyards and produces some of the world's most famous red wines, or you could explore by bicycle, with a tasting of cheese and wine included.
Back on board the ship, which is moored overnight in port, enjoy dinner and an evening of entertainment.
  • Day 3 Blaye
  • Early this morning we'll cruise to historic Blaye, an area noted for its Côtes de Blaye red wines. Perhaps you'll join our optional tour by coach along the picturesque Corniche road, which runs alongside the Dordogne and offers wonderfully scenic views. Look out for pretty gardens and the famous 'carralets', or fishermen's cabins that perch above the water as we head to the attractive village of Bourg. Built on a rocky outcrop and surrounded by medieval ramparts, it's a delight to explore on foot. Admire the UNESCO-listed citadel here before returning to Blaye by boat, passing by Meschers-sur-Gironde's steep cliffs and long beaches.
Alternatively, you may have chosen to join an optional tour of Blaye and the underground passages of its citadel, which were used by soldiers during the reign of Louis XIV. Afterwards, stroll to a nearby vineyard for a tasting of wine and regional products.
On board the ship we can look forward to an evening of dancing.
  • Day 4 Libourne
  • Our next port of call is Liborne, a great wine-growing town with a rich and colourful heritage. From here, why not join an optional tour of the beautiful medieval village of St Émilion, renowned for its production of full-bodied red wines. We'll explore the village's intriguing underground monuments, including the monolithic church and the cave of Émilion, the Benedictine monk who gave his name to the village. We'll also visit a family-run wine estate. Here we'll learn about the wine-making process before we enjoy a tasting.
  • Day 5 Bordeaux
  • Bordeaux is one of the world's most famous wine regions, and we'll arrive here this morning. The whole city is UNESCO-listed and you can discover its many architectural highlights on an optional excursion, from the stunning Grand Théâtre to the historic gems of the Saint Pierre district. Alternatively, you might have chosen to join an optional wine-tasting tour here, which includes a visit to the Wine & Trade Museum.
Back on board the ship, join your fellow travellers for a gala evening.
  • Day 6 Bordeaux to UK
