Itinerary

  • ​DAY 1 UK to Falmouth
  • You'll fly to Boston today, transferring on arrival to your hotel in Falmouth, Cape Cod. Get to know your travelling companions at a welcome reception at the hotel this evening​.
  • ​DAY 2 Cape Cod
  • Today we'll discover the highlights of Cape Cod, renowned for its up-market coastal resorts. Our journey takes us along the beautiful Cape Cod National Seashore and we'll make a stop at Chatham, home to Chatham Light. This afternoon we'll visit Provincetown, an eclectic artisan community.​
  • ​DAY 3 Falmouth
  • You are free to explore the area at your own pace. Falmouth is the quintessential Cape Cod village with a charming village green surrounded by historic homes and churches. The main street is lined with boutiques and galleries and is the perfect spot for a morning stroll. Surf Drive Beach, the site of the historic Battle of Falmouth in 1779 and the attack of Nimrod in 1812, is just a short walk away​.
  • ​DAY 4 Whale-watching
  • This morning, if weather conditions allow, we'll travel to Barnstable Harbor for a whale-watching boat trip. We'll be joined by a naturalist who will tell us about the various species we may spot. Our journey will take us into Cape Cod Bay to the historic colony of Sandy Neck and the 150-year-old lighthouse of the same name. We'll continue past Race Point Lighthouse, at the very tip of Cape Cod, and on to Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, where we'll watch for whales. The rest of the day has been left free.​
  • ​DAY 5 Falmouth
  • Enjoy a leisurely day in Falmouth. Alternatively, take a short walk from the hotel and catch the Island Queen passenger ferry to Martha's Vineyard. This delightful island is the holiday choice for celebrities and US presidents past and present.​
  • ​DAY 6 Newport
  • This morning we visit Newport, Rhode Island. We'll see St Mary's Church, where John F Kennedy married Jacqueline Bouvier, and stroll through the Old Town. At the turn of the last century America's wealthiest families built their summer homes in Newport, and you'll experience a taste of this opulent past with a tour along 'Millionaires Row'. ​
  • ​DAY 7 Falmouth
  • Spend today as you wish in Falmouth.Perhaps take a final stroll along SurfDrive Beach, or enjoy lunch at one ofthe waterfront restaurants in WoodsHole. This evening join your travellingcompanions for a farewell Cape Codlobster and clambake at the hotel.​
  • ​DAY 8 Boston to UK
  • We’ll leave Falmouth this morningand return to Boston where a tour isincluded. We’ll follow the FreedomTrail, visiting Boston Common and theGranary Burial Ground, and learn moreabout Boston’s revolutionary past. Thetour will end at Faneuil Hall and QuincyMarket and there will be free timebefore we transfer to the airport for thereturn flight to the UK.​
