Itinerary

  • DAY 1 UK to Santorini
  • Fly to Santorini today, transferring on arrival to your hotel. Before dinner this evening, gather with your travelling companions for a welcome drink.
  • DAY 2 Villages & wines of Santorini
  • Santorini is a picture-perfect island perched on what is left of a sunken volcanic caldera. It really is one the most beautiful of the Greek islands, boasting steep mountain paths and hillsides scattered with whitewashed villages and blue-domed churches. We'll discover some of the villages and learn about the local wines on today's included excursion, which also includes a visit to Fira, the island's vibrant capital. Here, you can spend time exploring the town with your travelling companions and visiting the Museum of Prehistoric Thera and the Archaeological Museum. Both house impressive collections of ancient artefacts excavated from the archaeological site of Akrotiri.

  • DAY 3 Akrotiri & Oia
  • An optional excursion today takes us to Akrotiri, Santorini's most important archaeological site. This ancient Minoan city was buried under ash and preserved almost intact, following a violent volcanic eruption. Excavations began in 1967, and today you can explore the site from a series of wooden walkways. Our next stop will be in the pretty town of Oia. Its fabulous position on top of a high cliff makes it a wonderful vantage point from which to take in views of the setting sun.
  • DAY 4 Caldera Islands cruise
  • The choice is yours today, relax and enjoy the facilities at your hotel, or join an optional cruisearound Santorini and its neighbouring islands – a fantastic way to savour their beauty. Our first stop will be the lava island of Nea Kameni. Here you can take a walk to the crater edge of its still-active volcano and see whirls of steam rising from the ground. Next we sail to Palea Kameni, another islet formed by molten rock. If you wish, you can bathe in hot sulphur springs, or simply enjoy the exceptional views.

Our final stop is Thirassia, an island which was once part of Santorini. During free time, why not go for a refreshing swim or head to a tavern for a lunch of Greek specialities .

  • DAY 5 Paros
  • We leave Santorini this morning and take a ferry to the island of Paros. After time to settle in at the hotel, we'll head to the lovely village of Naoussa. A popular spot in the evening, Naoussa retains its traditional character and charm. It's maze of narrow cobblestone streets are full of tempting shops, and we'll have dinner in a restaurant close the picturesque port.
  • DAY 6 Paros town & Lefkes
  • Today we'll get to know Parikia, the island's small capital which is also known as Paros Town. We'll see typical whitewashed houses, a maze of winding streets, lovely sandy beaches, the remains of a 13th century Venetian castle and one of the oldest churches in Greece. Our tour ends at the archaeological museum, before having the chance to learn how to make the perfect cup of Greek coffee in a traditional café in beautiful Lefkes.
  • DAY 7 Skorpios Folklore Museum & Antiparos
  • Enjoy another day to relax at leisure, or join our optional excursion. First of all we will visit the Skorpios Folklore Museum, which houses a collection of miniature boats and other interesting artefacts. Next, we'll take the ferry to the nearby island of Antiparos and stroll through its picturesque little town. Wandering along the paved streets, we'll see the market and medieval castle before catching the ferry back to Paros.
  • DAY 8 Mykonos to UK
  • We'll discover another idyllic Greek island today as we head by ferry to Mykonos, famous for its iconic windmills. We'll stroll through Mykonos Town on a guided tour - before we head to the airport for the flight back to the UK .
