Itinerary

  • Day 1 Newbury
  • Make you own way to Newbury and check into your hotel. On arrival, settle into your room and perhaps make use of the hotel's facilities before meeting your holiday companions for dinner this evening.
  • Day 2 New Year's Eve
  • After a leisurely breakfast, we'll head to Winchester for a guided tour. The city has many fascinating attractions including a magnificent Cathedral, the ruins of Wolvesey Castle and Winchester City Mill - probably the oldest working watermill in the UK. After our tour you'll have time to explore more of the city at your own pace before we make our way back to the hotel.
Tonight we'll get together for dinner and see in the New Year with a fabulous evening of live entertainment.
  • Day 3 New Year's Day
  • We're going to explore Windsor Castle today. Founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, it's the world's oldest and largest occupied castle and has been the home of 39 monarchs. Spend some time admiring the State Apartments, a grand collection of rooms at the heart of the castle and St George's Chapel, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in England. During the winter months, the Semi-State Rooms, some of the most elaborate in the Castle, are also open to the public. These are the private apartments created for George IV and the Queen uses them today for official entertaining.
We'll head back to the hotel this afternoon, and after time to relax we'll enjoy dinner together this evening.
  • Day 4 Newbury
  • Your holiday comes to an end today as you check out of the hotel and head for home.
