Itinerary

  • Day 1 UK to Vienna
  • You will fly to Vienna today, from where we'll transfer you to your ship. Meet your travelling companions and the crew over cocktails and an Austrian-themed dinner on board this evening.
  • Day 2 Vienna
  • Austria's capital, Vienna, is a diverse city with a vibrant culture, a vast imperial history and intriguing architecture. Why not join an optional guided tour this morning visiting its charming Christmas markets, where you can buy traditional festive handicrafts and sample local specialities. We'll also see the famous Ringstrasse – a smart boulevard lined with fine buildings, including the State Opera, the Hofburg Palace, the Natural History Museum and the Burgtheatre, which is one of the most important German language theatres in the world.
Back on board, this afternoon we'll set sail for Budapest.
  • Day 3 Budapest
  • Known as the 'Pearl of the Danube', Budapest is Hungary's bustling capital, and you can step ashore to explore this morning. The river splits the city into two parts, with the modern buildings and busy streets of Pest on one side and the historic quarters of Buda on the other, and this is where our optional guided tour begins. We'll take in the famous Chain Bridge, the enchanting castle quarter, the Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church – the oldest in the city. We'll then admire Pest's highlights, including Heroes' Square, the Szechenyi thermal baths and Vajdahunyad Castle.
  • Day 4 Bratislava
  • Once the capital of Hungary, Bratislava now serves as Slovakia's diverse capital city, and we arrive here this morning. Why not join an optional panoramic tour and discover its atmospheric Christmas markets and the medieval Bratislava Castle. Take in the spectacular views over the Danube from its ancient ramparts before entering the Old Town through Michael's Gate, which dates back to the Middle Ages. We'll admire the elegant buildings that line the central square, including the old town hall and a host of Art Nouveau treasures, and take in the Primate's Palace. During a free afternoon there will be plenty of time to pick up traditional crafts or perhaps enjoy a glass of mulled wine as you revisit the Christmas markets and browse the many stalls.
Back on board the ship there's the chance to get dressed up this evening for a gala dinner.
  • Day 5 Vienna to UK
  • After breakfast, you'll disembark the ship and we'll transfer you to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
