Not Included

  • Day 1 Oxford
  • Head to the historic city of Oxford and check into your hotel. Meet your holiday companions over Afternoon Tea and perhaps head out and explore your surroundings if you wish. This evening we'll get together for a pre-dinner cocktail and after our meal there will be a Christmas-themed quiz.
  • Day 2 Christmas Eve Oxford
  • Today we will get to know Oxford a little better when a Blue Badge Guide takes us on a tour of the 'city of dreaming spires'. We'll explore on foot, admiring historic landmarks and the beautiful university buildings and grounds. Back at the hotel, we'll have some time to relax and later we'll get together for a glass of mulled wine, carol singing and dinner.
  • Day 3 Christmas Day Oxford
  • It's Christmas Day, so enjoy some time to relax before we sit down to a traditional festive lunch with all the trimmings. Afterwards you might want to enjoy a drink in the bar or head out for a stroll with your holiday companions. If you've room for a sweet treat, tea and Christmas cake will be served mid-afternoon.
We'll continue our celebrations this evening when we gather for a light buffet supper.
  • Day 4 Boxing Day Blenheim Palace
  • After breakfast we're going to go to Blenheim Palace, an impressive country house situated on the outskirts of the picturesque town of Woodstock. A fine example of Baroque architecture, it is the home of the 12th Duke of Marlborough and his family and was the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. You are free to go inside the palace and explore the state rooms at leisure, and outside there are more than 2,000 acres of landscaped parkland and formal gardens to discover.
This evening we'll gather at the hotel and enjoy dinner together.
  • Day 5 Oxford
  • After breakfast this morning, it's time to bid farewell to your companions and make your own way home. Perhaps take time to explore more of Oxford before you head off.
