Step into the world of wartime Britain on this fascinating short break. We descend beneath Westminster to Churchill’s War Rooms, the underground nerve centre where the British government directed World War Two operations and plotted the route to victory. This intriguing time capsule offers the perfect chance to walk through the atmospheric corridors, discover Churchill’s bunker bedroom, learn more about the famous Prime Minister in the museum and much more. Our delve into the past continues with a trip to Bletchley Park, where we follow in the footsteps of Alan Turing and the top-secret Codebreakers who changed the course of the war from this quiet countryside estate. From discovering stories of the people who worked here to exploring the range of exhibitions in the historic huts, Bletchley Park is somewhere everyone should visit at least once.

Coach Itinerary

Day 1

From a morning pick up in your local area we travel by coach to our hotel, arriving in time to enjoy dinner and our first night’s stay.

Day 2

A special day awaits in London, where we begin with a trip to Churchill War Rooms in the heart of Westminster. Set underneath the Treasury building, the museum is comprised of the Cabinet War Rooms, used as a base for British Government command during the Second World War, as well as the Churchill Museum, which displays many exhibits that give a fascinating glimpse into the life of Britain’s wartime Prime Minister.

This afternoon we enjoy free time in the capital. From a trip on the London Eye to a spot of shopping on Oxford Street or a stroll through Hyde Park – there is plenty to do, or why not head to the Imperial War Museum London? With free entry, there is so much to explore in the world’s leading museum of war and conflict, including the award-winning Second World War Galleries and The Holocaust Galleries. Later, the coach takes us back to our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 3

Following breakfast at the hotel, we check out and make our way to Bletchley Park. We discover one of the most remarkable stories of World War Two at this stately home, where the pioneering achievements of codebreakers provided crucial assistance to the Allied war effort. Our visit gives us an insight into the clandestine operations here, as well as free time to explore the galleries and exhibits inside the original codebreaking huts, which feature the world’s largest and most comprehensive display of Enigma machines. In the afternoon we re-join the coach for our journey home.
