Itinerary
Included Excursions
Portsmouth & Portsmouth Historic Dockyard (full day)
We venture to Portsmouth, Britain’s only island city, for the highlight of our trip, a visit to the fascinating Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Our special entry tickets allow us to discover the many nautical artefacts housed within and explore some of history’s most famous ships including Lord Nelson’s HMS Victory which first commissioned nearly 250 years ago!
We then have free time to spend in Portsmouth. Take a stroll to Gunwharf Quays, a rejuvenated area of retail outlets, bars and restaurants. Here you can climb the Spinnaker Tower for panoramic views of the surrounding area.
Arundel & Chichester (half day)
We start the day in the charming market town of Arundel, located in a steep vale of the South Downs. With contemporary art galleries, boutique shops and its imposing Norman castle and Gothic cathedral dominating the skyline, Arundel is a delight to explore.
We continue to the cathedral city of Chichester. This historic compact city boasts some of the country’s oldest buildings and streets, including the cathedral church of the Holy Trinity, while the pedestrianised city centre is enclosed within the ancient city walls.
Optional Excursion
Littlehampton & Bognor Regis – £11pp (half day)
Join our optional excursion where we first visit the delightful little town of Littlehampton, an attractive pleasure harbour with two award-winning beaches. It may be little by name, but this small town has so much to experience including the UK’s longest bench, the Stage by the Sea’s unique shell-shaped architecture that naturally projects sound out to an audience, and a miniature railway.
Afterwards, we head to the small seaside town of Bognor Regis where we can enjoy a walk along the promenade and all the traditional delights of a British seaside resort.
