Itinerary

Description

With its elegant boulevards and iconic buildings, Paris is undoubtedly one of the finest cities to discover in the world. From admiring the Mona Lisa at the Louvre and heading to the top of the Arc de Triomphe for panoramic views across the city, to marvelling at the Eiffel Tower and strolling along the Champs-Élysées, there is so much to experience here. We also visit the spectacular Palace of Versailles, where there are more than 2,300 rooms, including Marie Antoinette’s bedrooms, the King’s apartments and the stunning Hall of Mirrors. To complete our Parisian adventure we enjoy a lunch cruise on the River Seine; the perfect way to discover the sights of Paris.

Itinerary

Day 1
Ferry to Calais and on to our hotel on the outskirts of Paris. Later, we enjoy a welcome drinks reception hosted by our tour manager followed by dinner at the hotel.

Day 2 – Paris & River Seine Lunch Cruise
Today we enjoy a cruise along the famous River Seine, which flows through the heart of Paris. The picturesque river has been the inspiration of artists for centuries, and the evolution of Paris and its history can be seen from here. We enjoy this relaxing journey while taking in the many sights of the French capital, complete with a delightful lunch on-board.

We have free time in the evening to find somewhere for dinner in the city before the coach takes us back to the hotel.

Day 3 – Palace of Versailles
This morning we visit the spectacular Palace of Versailles, France’s second most popular attraction after the Eiffel Tower. Dating back to the 17th century, the palace has been a hunting lodge, a seat of power and, from the 19th century onwards, a museum and offers an incredible insight into French history, with lavish interiors and beautiful architecture to admire. Save time to explore the immaculate gardens too with plenty of sculptures and fountains to discover.

Afterwards we return to central Paris to explore at leisure. There are many iconic landmarks to discover, including the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, as well as plenty of museums and galleries. You may like to wander through the quaint streets of the Latin Quarter or indulge in some retail therapy.

This evening we enjoy dinner in a restaurant in Montmartre, a charming hilltop quarter of Paris.

Day 4
Travel back to Calais for our return ferry home.
