Included Excursions

Waddesdon Manor
(full day)

We travel to Waddesdon Manor in the village of Buckinghamshire. Built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild in the 1870s, the French inspired château was lavishly designed to entertain guests and showcase his enthusiastic interest in art. From Dutch paintings to British portraiture, Waddesdon has one of the finest collections of French decorative arts. Nestled within 5,000 acres of beautiful parkland, the formal gardens are said to be one of the finest examples of late Victorian gardens in England and include a Rococo-style aviary, a Parterre, sculptures, and more. Owned by the National Trust, this is one of their most visited properties.

Oxford (full day)
Today we enjoy time in Oxford. This beautiful city of dreaming spires has plenty to offer, with many historic university buildings to see including the famous Bodleian Libraries, and postcard-perfect scenes of students and visitors punting on the river. Oxford also has a wide variety of shops, from High Street stores to quaint individual boutiques and bookshops, peppered with plenty of restaurants and olde worlde taverns. The city’s literary connections include J.R.R Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Oscar Wilde and it also provided inspiration for some of the sets in the Harry Potter films.

Marlow & Windsor (half day)

Our first stop is Marlow, considered one of the loveliest locations on the River Thames, Marlow is situated between Henley-on-Thames and Windsor. The centre has many historic buildings, shops, wine bars, and pubs, all contributing to a lively yet charming town. Overlooked by the Chilterns, an Area of Outstanding Beauty, some visitors will recognise locations from the Midsomer Murders TV series.

We reboard the coach and make our way to Windsor, most famous for Windsor Castle, one of the official residences of His Majesty The King and the British Royal Family, and the final resting place of Elizabeth II. Windsor has many beautiful buildings and cobbled streets and also boasts a vibrant outlook with various high-end bars and restaurants.
