Description

Enjoy three fabulous days exploring the delights of Norfolk including atmospheric Norwich, one of the oldest medieval cities in the country with a wealth of history to discover. We also enjoy an idyllic journey on the picturesque, narrow gauge Bure Valley Railway and a relaxing cruise aboard the Southern Comfort Mississippi Paddle Boat; a lovely way to experience the stunning scenery of the Norfolk Broads.

Itinereray

Day 1
From a morning pickup in your local area we travel by coach to our hotel, arriving in time for dinner.

Day 2

Today we experience a nostalgic trip on the heritage Bure Valley Railway, Norfolk’s longest narrow gauge railway. As we meander from Aylsham to Wroxham, sit back and admire the pretty Bure Valley countryside. After some free time in charming Wroxham for lunch (not included), we travel by coach to the picturesque village of Horning. Here we embark on a memorable cruise along the Norfolk Broads on the Southern Comfort Mississippi Paddle Boat, passing lovely thatched cottages, windmills, ancient churches and reed beds while spotting some of the area’s unique wildlife along the way.

Day 3

We check out of our hotel and spend some free time in Norwich. One of the most complete medieval cities in the country, Norwich is steeped in history and atmosphere, with winding lanes lined with period buildings and an imposing Norman cathedral, which boasts the second tallest spire in England.

JG3

Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, with a greater range of facilities and services. Bedrooms are a little more spacious and have additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, a bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or with waiter service.

We’ll stay at one of two hotels:

The stylish Holiday Inn Norwich North, located just outside the city centre, offers en-suite rooms with tea and coffee-making facilities as well as a restaurant and bar. Leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool, steam room, sauna and gym. Breakfasts are buffet style.  (JG3 rating)

The striking Carlton Hotel is located in a wonderful position on Great Yarmouth’s Marine Parade and boasts marvellous sea views. Just a short stroll from the resort’s sandy beach, promenade and traditional attractions, the hotel also offers en-suite rooms with and tea/coffee-making facilities, along with a bar restaurant and free Wi-Fi.
