Itinerary

Coach Itinerary

Lynmouth & Minehead (full day)
Our first visit is to Lynmouth, an attractive village set in a gorge on the coast of the Exmoor National Park, surrounded by magnificent scenery. The village has retained much of its charm with a quaint harbour and a good range of cafés, tea rooms, craft and gift shops. We continue on to the traditional seaside resort of Minehead with its promenade lined with cafés, bars and shops, long sandy beach and picturesque harbour.

Tiverton & horse-drawn barge trip on the Grand Western Canal (full day)
We head to Tiverton, with time to explore before our memorable boat trip. One of the last of its kind, the Tivertonian is a traditional horse-drawn barge on the Grand Western Canal. We travel for an hour to East Manley, where there’s a chance to stretch our legs and admire Brunel’s aqueduct while the horse has a well-earned rest, before returning to Tiverton. During our journey, we listen to tales, anecdotes and historical facts about the horse-drawn barge and the Grand Western Canal.

Optional Excursion
Barnstaple, Woolacombe & Ilfracombe - £10pp (full day)
Join our optional excursion that takes us first to the capital of north Devon, Barnstaple. The town features many fine buildings and attractive streets and alleys and is also home to the historic Barnstaple Pannier Market which offers a range of produce, arts and crafts, antiques and collectables.

Afterwards we head to the seaside, stopping first in Woolacombe, famed for its three miles of golden sands and regularly recognised as one of the top ten beaches in the world. Next is Ilfracombe, an important holiday town during the Victorian era and home to stunning beaches and the largest harbour on the north Devon coast.
