On this relaxing break to the peaceful coast of North Wales we enjoy the genteel ambience of Llandudno, known as the ‘Queen of the Welsh Resorts’. This delightful seaside town is famed for its golden beach flanked by two headlands, the Great and Little Ormes, and its wonderful air of traditional Victorian charm. From strolling along the beautiful coast to exploring the famous Llandudno pier, or perhaps a spot of shopping at the Victoria centre, there is plenty to do for those seeking a traditional leisurely break. We also have time to explore picturesque Betws-y-Coed on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, a traditional woollen mill and the remarkable medieval town of Conwy.

Coach Itinerary

North Wales & Snowdonia Breaks

Included Excursion
Betws-y-Coed, Trefriw Woollen Mills & Conwy (full day)
We start the day with a visit to the picturesque village of Betws-y-Coed, known as the Gateway to Snowdonia National Park. The backdrop of coniferous forests has earned this area the name ‘Little Switzerland’.

Next stop is Trefriw Woollen Mills, one of the few remaining mills in Wales and an important traditional manufacturer of Welsh woollen products.

We return to the hotel via the medieval walled town of Conwy, home to the imposing Conwy Castle, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered to be among the finest surviving medieval fortifications in Britain. The town is also home to a quaint harbour, traditional pubs, snug cafés, the revolutionary Telford suspension bridge and Drew Pritchard Antiques (of TV’s Salvage Hunters fame)!

Optional Excursions
Llanberis & Caernarfon – £12pp (full day)
For our first optional excursion, we head to the bustling village of Llanberis which enjoys a lovely lakeside location at the foot of mighty Mount Snowdon. We continue on to Caernarfon, a charming town with a thriving harbour located on the eastern shore of the Menai Straits. The main landmark of the town is the imposing castle ordered by Edward I in the 13th century.

Isle of Anglesey, Beaumaris & Bangor – £12pp (full day)
On our second optional excursion, we cross the Menai Bridge to the Isle of Anglesey to visit the beautiful coastal town of Beaumaris, renowned for its magnificent castle that, along with Conwy Castle, formed a ring of English defences around the Welsh coast. On our return to the mainland, we stop in Bangor, situated at the north-western tip of Wales. The city is known for its cathedral, university and pier with views over the Menai Strait back towards Anglesey.
