Itinerary
Description
Treat yourself to a break away to the Isle of Wight and be prepared for fun and amusements by the bucket (and spade) load! With dramatic white cliffs, pretty resorts and tranquil sand dunes aplenty, the isle received Queen Victoria’s nod of approval in the 19th century and still proves to be one of the UK’s favourite seaside destinations today. There’s also a fabulous drinks offer and afternoon activities to enjoy at our hotel on this lovely short break!
Coach Itinerary
Day 1
From a morning pick up in your local area we travel by coach to catch the ferry to the Isle of Wight and travel onwards to our hotel.
Day 2 – Newport & Ryde
On our included excursion, we head first to the bustling capital of the island, Newport. This lovely town centres on two squares with elegant Georgian and Victorian architecture surrounding them. We can explore the historic quayside or browse the selection of speciality shops here. We continue on to the seaside resort of Ryde with its long stretch of golden sand, pretty esplanade, marina and beautiful gardens.
Back at the hotel this afternoon, we enjoy a fun-filled tea dance with tea, coffee and cake.
Day 3 – Optional excursion to Cowes, Yarmouth & Ventnor (£11pp)
Our optional excursion takes us first to Cowes, home to the world-famous regatta. Many of the town’s ornate buildings date from Queen Victoria’s time, in the style popularised by her consort Prince Albert. Next is the historic port town of Yarmouth which contains some of the oldest architecture on the island including a 16th-century castle. Finally we visit Ventnor, a pretty resort built on a series of terraces.
Later we enjoy a relaxing movie afternoon at the hotel, complete with tea, coffee and biscuits.
Day 4
After breakfast we check out of the hotel and make our way home.
Please note: the order of the hotel’s entertainment programme is subject to change.
