Itinerary
North Devon Breaks With A Visit To RHS Rosemoor Gardens
RHS Garden Rosemoor & Bideford (full day)
RHS Garden Rosemoor, spanning 65 acres set in the Torridge Valley, is a unique and enchanting place to explore. Here we can admire the Rose Garden, the Fruit & Vegetable Garden and the Exotic Garden, plus many more, all showcasing displays of horticultural excellence. We then enjoy some free time in the historic town of Bideford, situated on the west bank of the River Torridge. Take a stroll along the quay, admire the impressive 16th-century stone bridge, or explore the delightful lanes which offer quirky shops, cafés and restaurants.
Tiverton & Horse-drawn cruise (full day)
We head to Tiverton to enjoy a charming cruise on a horse-drawn barge. We witness the sleepy beauty of the mid-Devon countryside by water on one of the last horse-drawn boats of its kind for a unique and delightfully old-fashioned experience. During our journey, we listen to tales, anecdotes and historical facts about the horse-drawn barge and the Grand Western Canal. We also take some free time to explore Tiverton town.
Optional Excursion
Barnstaple & Woolacombe - £11pp (half day)
On our optional excursion we head first to Barnstaple, the capital of north Devon. The town features many fine buildings and attractive streets and is also home to the historic Barnstaple Pannier Market which offers a range of produce, arts and crafts, antiques and collectables.
Afterwards we go back to the seaside to visit Woolacombe, famed for its three miles of golden sands and regularly recognised as one of the top ten beaches in the world. Blow away the cobwebs with a bracing stroll along the beach, browse the shops or relax in one of the pubs or cafés.
