Description
Our hotel in the picturesque town of Folkestone provides us with the perfect base to visit France on this lovely weekend break. We venture across the Channel to the pretty French seaside town of Boulogne-sur-Mer, with its old town walls, domed cathedral and attractive medieval quarter. We also visit beautiful Canterbury, one of the most important cathedral cities in England.

Boulogne-sur-Mer (full day)
On the highlight of our break, we catch the ferry across the Channel to visit Boulogne-sur-Mer, just a stone’s throw from Calais. France’s premier fishing port offers a historic Old Town surrounded by medieval ramparts and a pedestrianised town centre bustling with shops, restaurants and cafés.
Canterbury (full day)
We journey to the beautiful city of Canterbury, with its quaint cobbled lanes, timber-framed buildings and medieval city walls. It is also home to the oldest cathedral in England, dating back to Norman times.
