Itinerary
Day 1
From a morning pickup in your local area we travel by coach to Scotland’s vibrant capital city, Edinburgh, where we spend time at leisure. Later we check in to our hotel in the resort.
Day 2
We spend more time exploring Edinburgh. From the picturesque sights of the old town, the iconic castle perched high above the city, the sprawl of attractions on the Royal Mile and the grandeur of George Street, with its many boutique shops, cafés and restaurants, there’s a wealth of things to do. Later we return to the hotel for dinner and our second night’s stay.
Day 3
This morning we head to Falkirk where we embark on a 50-minute boat trip starting at the Falkirk Wheel, a rotating boat lift built for the Millennium that lifts the boat up to join the Union Canal 35 metres above, sailing smoothly from the Falkirk Wheel onto the Union Canal before returning to our starting point at the Falkirk Wheel Visitor Centre. We continue our day with a visit to The Kelpies, the world’s largest equine sculptures and a true masterpiece of engineering, designed by Andy Scott. Their name reflects the mythological transforming beasts with the strength of 100 horses, echoing the transformational change of the region’s landscape and the strength of its communities. The story of The Kelpies is brought to life on our walking tour, which allows us to see a Kelpie from the inside for an exclusive look at their ingenuity. We make our way home in the afternoon.
