Itinerary
Description
The Battle of Britain Air Show brings to life Duxford’s finest hour as an important Second World War fighter station, where dozens of lovingly restored and maintained historic aircraft take to the skies in a spectacular homage to the fliers of the day. We also explore the Operations Room from where the aerial campaign was directed and tour the restoration hangar where engineers prepare classic aircraft for flight. With over 200 planes, tanks and boats, the IWM Duxford provides a fascinating journey through British military history.
Coach Itinerary
Saturday
From a morning pickup in your local area we travel by coach to our hotel, arriving in time for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.
Sunday
After breakfast, we head to the Imperial War Museum Duxford, arriving in plenty of time to take a step back in time and immerse ourselves in Duxford’s heritage - Not only serving as the home of the No.19 Squadron, Duxford also has the honour of having the first Spitfires flown in operation serve at the base. We also have time to explore the hangars and learn the stories of the people who lived and worked on this crucial airbase before the Air Show commences in the early afternoon. Marvel at aerial acrobatics, dogfights and a mass Spitfire flypast before we depart for home in the late afternoon.
