Description

Breathe in the sea-salt air of the romantic coast as we enjoy a fabulous weekend stay in Cornwall. From our base in Newquay, we spend four days exploring the beautiful landscapes of the South West including excursions to the harbour town of Padstow, well known for its world-class restaurants that sit alongside historic shops and cottages, and the little cathedral city of Truro.

Included Excursions

Truro (half day)

We visit vibrant Truro, Cornwall’s sole city. This celebrated mini-metropolis was the bustling heart of Cornwall’s booming copper and tin industry in the 14^th century which led to it reaching city status in the late 19^th century. There are plenty of great shopping opportunities to discover here from big-name retailers to small independent stores, as well as a selection of pretty Georgian cobbled streets, a modern theatre and a beautiful Gothic-revival cathedral, one of only three in the UK to have three spires.

Padstow (half day)

We head towards the gorgeous port town of Padstow which dishes up plenty of culinary culture, fresh seaside air and lovely harbourside views. Despite being a must-see tourist destination, this well-known little town still has a cosy, local feel to it as characterised by its traditional fishing practices, narrow streets and ancient festivals. It’s the perfect spot to tuck into a delicious Cornish pasty or two while watching the boats bob gently in the bay!

Accommodation

Hotel

The Kilbirnie Hotel overlooks the ocean in Newquay. The comfortable rooms feature Freeview TV and tea and coffee-making facilities. The hotel also offers a lounge bar and restaurant plus leisure facilities including an indoor swimming pool, a sauna and a fitness suite. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. Please note that none of the sea view rooms have a walk-in shower.
