Let the sea air blow away the cobwebs on this trip to the beautiful coastal town of Bournemouth, renowned for its miles-long golden beach and historic pier. From our base here, we discover the best of the area with trips to the storied city of Salisbury, charming Dorchester and the vibrant harbourside town of Weymouth. Designed especially for those travelling solo, this exciting short break is the perfect escape to the seaside with great company!

Salisbury (full day)
Set in a quintessentially English landscape, this stunning city has a rich heritage with hundreds of buildings listed for their historical merit including the medieval cathedral which boasts the tallest spire in Britain. Explore the patchwork of streets which boast a picturesque jumble of architectural styles, ranging from medieval walls and half-timbered Tudor town houses to Georgian mansions and Victorian villas. There’s still time for a well-deserved rest at one of the many cosy tea rooms dotted along the side streets.
Dorchester & Weymouth (full day)
Our first stop is the charming county town of Dorchester. Here we can browse the quirky shops, enjoy the quaint cafés and restaurants or explore one of the fascinating museums.
We continue to wander down the memory lane of seaside resorts with a visit to Weymouth, crowned with a bustling harbour and fine Georgian seafront. The resort boasts a long sandy beach peppered with candy-stripe kiosks, plus fantastic views across the bay taking in the World Heritage Jurassic coastline.
Optional Excursion
Poole & Swanage – £13pp (full day)
On our optional excursion we head first to Poole, a bustling resort with a lively quayside, stunning natural harbour, some of the finest beaches in England and a historic Old Town which still shows evidence of its medieval past. Next stop is the resort of Swanage with its seaside attractions, sandy beach, promenade, Victorian pier and colourful beach huts.

The Carrington House Hotel is situated on a quiet, tree-lined street on the East Cliff of Bournemouth, just a short walk from the town centre and beaches. The hotel offers a bar, restaurant and an indoor swimming pool. The en-suite rooms feature satellite TV and tea and coffee-making facilities. Meals may be buffet style.
