Description

Star Value All Inclusive

Lose yourself in Portugal’s southernmost region, the spectacular Algarve. Brimming with natural beauty, this unspoilt land of pristine beaches, breathtaking cliffs and a vast coastline has long been a favourite with British holidaymakers. Beloved for its fantastic, sunny winters, the Algarve is ideal for a long getaway. Immerse yourself in nature, as we explore the local towns, steeped in culture and offering a glimpse into traditional Portuguese life. Discover charming fishing towns, rich in history, evidenced by ancient monuments, Roman ruins, and medieval castles. Our range of included excursions takes us to the atmospheric Loulé Market, the capital city of Faro, where we enjoy a city tour and the West and East coasts of the Algarve.

Itinerary

Included Excursions

Loulé Market (half day)

The town of Loulé, once an influential Moorish city between the 8th and 12th centuries, is steeped in history, inspiration for its covered market, which follows a Neo-Arab styling. This bustling market hosts various stalls, ranging from fresh fish and foods to gifts and local handicrafts. We enjoy discovering this variety of goods while soaking up the authentic Portuguese atmosphere. After a wander, why not head to one of the local restaurants for a delicious regional dish?

Faro City Tour (half day)

We journey to the Algarve’s capital, Faro, a colourful city of chic boulevards, lined with palm trees and home to stunning views of the marina. Our tour takes us to Estoi, where we witness its Roman ruins and the former fishing village of Albufeira, rich in influence from the Moors era. See the beauty of the Renaissance cathedral and explore the old town, with its whitewashed houses and cobbled streets, lined with fragrant orange trees.

West Coast (full day)

A wonderfully scenic western coastline, this area of the Algarve is a must-see – remote and serene, with rugged cliffs and beautiful beaches, ideal for a coastal walk. There are several small towns in this region, such as the picturesque fishing village of Burgau, with a calm beach sheltered by tall cliffs and the Praia da Luz beach resort, showcasing a glorious coastline, with a storied history woven into its architecture.

East Coast (full day)

Delve into the East Coast of Algarve, a peaceful sanctuary, bursting with unspoilt natural beauty.  Wander its impressive eight-mile beach or visit one of the many quaint towns, such as Tavira, a pretty riverside spot and one of the oldest settlements of the Algarve, with pristine beaches nearby. Or discover Castro Marim, a town founded before the Roman Empire, with its hilltop medieval castle and allure of authentic daily Algarve life.  There is also Ria Formosa Natural Park, a stunning coastal lagoon and a haven for wildlife, with ample bird-watching spots.
