Hay On Wye - Town Of Books In Herefordshire
Saturday 23 March 2019
Hay-on-Wye is a small market town in Powys, situated on the Wales/England border. The town lies on the east bank of the River Wye and is within the Brecon Beacons National Park, just north of the Black Mountains. Hay is quite small so it's possible to walk around the circumference of the town in about 20 minutes. Often described as the Town of Books, it is the National Book Town of Wales and its numerous bookshops are a delight to browse at any time of year. It is also the twin town of Timbuktu! How about a visit to the Saturday Produce Market which offers delicious homemade pastries, cakes and treats, artisan bread, African rugs and baskets, plus hand-spun yarns and woollen items.
