5 Days Half Board by Coach
Situated seven hundred feet above sea level and surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in Wales, Llandrindod Wells is one of Britain’s hidden treasures. It was the Victorians who developed the town into one of the most fashionable Spa towns in Britain, and you can still visit the Pump Room where it was once possible to take the mineral rich waters. Temple Gardens is the perfect place to relax and watch the world go by, whilst for the more energetic there is a purpose-built indoor bowling centre nearby.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
Full Day: Our first visit is Machynlleth, the ‘ancient capital of Wales’, before travelling along the shores of the Dovey Estuary to pretty Tywyn. Then it’s back into the glorious Welsh countryside, passing mighty Cadir Idris to pause at the attractively situated Meirion Mill at Dinas-Mawddwy.
Full Day: We head through the mountains to the beauty spot of Devil’s Bridge, where there is an opportunity to take an optional ride on the Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway (seasonal only). We continue to the seaside resort of Aberystwyth, nestled between three hills with colourful Victorian and Edwardian terraces lining the seafront.
Half Day: This morning we tour into the Elan Valley, with its series of spectacular reservoirs in a dramatic scenic setting. The visitor centre has an exhibit of the water scheme, showing photographs of the houses that were ‘drowned’.
