The Way We Were 2022
5 Days | Half Board | by Coach
Highlights: Alnwick, Beamish Open Air Museum, Durham, Hartlepool's Maritime Experience, Craigside House
Join us as we turn the clocks back a hundred or more years and remember how things used to be. At the award-winning, Beamish Open Air Museum streets, shops and homes recreate life at the turn of the century. We also experience how it used to be in Nelson’s day and how the ‘other half’ lived at Cragside House.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
Full day: Today we head for the picturesque fortress town of Alnwick with a magnificent castle dominating the skyline. Then on to Cragside House, an impressive Victorian mansion built for the first Lord Armstrong and the first house in the world to have electricity.
Full day: Today’s full day visit to Beamish Open Air Museum is a truly unforgettable experience. Ride on the trams, visit the shops, and walk into houses – all faithfully recreating life at the turn of the century.
Full day: To Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience, a superb re-creation of an 18th century seaport bringing to life the time of Nelson and Napoleon with a selection of historic shops and houses. This afternoon we visit the historic cathedral city of Durham.
