Your ItineraryMONDAY: Join your Grand UK Tour Manager and your fellow travellers at Kings Cross Station for our journey on the East Coast line to Stirling. We pass through York and Newcastle before hugging the Northumbrian and Berwickshire coastline for a spectacular journey into Edinburgh, before your train continues to Stirling and our hotel in the heart of the city, the Highland Hotel, for four nights.
TUESDAY: Today we head by train into Glasgow. On arrival we meet a local guide for a walking tour of the historic centre of the city, with its classic architecture and fascinating history before there is free time to enjoy Glasgow at your own pace. We return to Stirling by rail in time for dinner.
WEDNESDAY: This morning we take the Scotrail service to Pitlochry where there is time to enjoy this popular tourist centre, most famed for its salmon ladder and traditional souvenirs. We return to have a late lunch at our hotel before heading by rail to Edinburgh. There is free time in this iconic city before we gather to make our way to the castle for the highlight of our tour – an evening at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. After the show we return to Stirling by coach.
THURSDAY: A leisurely start to the day, with some time to wander around Stirling before we make our way by rail to Dundee. Here we include a visit to Discovery Point, the home of the RRS Discovery - Captain Scott’s exploration vessel - before returning to Stirling by train.
FRIDAY: We leave Stirling this morning for our journey south, through Edinburgh and retracing our tracks through Northumberland and Yorkshire to return to London Kings Cross by mid-afternoon.
