We head to Ironbridge, birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and site of the world’s first iron bridge, built across the River Severn between 1711-81. We explore the valley, and of course have the opportunity to cross the bridge itself, before visiting the fascinating Blists Hill Victorian Town Museum.
FULL DAY: Shrewsbury & River Severn cruise
This morning to Shrewsbury, one of England’s finest Tudor towns. Here we include a delightful cruise on the River Severn before enjoying some time for sightseeing. We return through the heart of Shropshire, surrounded by the Long Mynd and Wenlock Edge.
FULL DAY: Church Stretton, Ludlow & Wenlock Edge
This morning to Church Stretton, nestled in Shropshire’s scenic hills with charming shops and a peaceful country town atmosphere before this afternoon we drive through the surrounding landscapes to the border town of Ludlow, one of Britain’s loveliest medieval towns.
