Amid the far reaching horizons and wide open skies of East Anglia lie some of England’s best kept secrets. Beloved of Royalty and the aristocracy for generations, for good reason, here you will find a slightly quieter pace of life and a wonderful diversity of interesting places to visit and things to do.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
Full day: Through the Norfolk countryside today to visit Sandringham House and Gardens – the beautiful country home of Her Majesty the Queen. Explore the fine 19th century Mansion House - packed with priceless antiques and gifts from around the world - together with the formal gardens, station museum and 300 acre country park.
Full day: Across the county border today we make our way to the Suffolk coast and first to the charming seaside town of Southwold, well known for its traditional pier and colourful, but expensive, beach huts. We continue along the coast, passing the nature reserves on the flat low lying marshlands, to Aldeburgh, well known for its fanciful shops, great fish and chips and the English composer Benjamin Britten, who founded the Aldeburgh Festival in 1948.
Half day: This morning we take the short trip into historic Norwich, the most complete medieval city in the UK with fine examples such as the quaint Elm Hill and Timber Hill. With time to explore, discover the two impressive cathedrals, 15th century guildhall and vibrant market beneath its colourful canopy.
