Highlights: Pretty Lacock, Historic Bath, Chavenage House, Tetbury, Oxford

Period dramas have seen a renaissance on British television over recent years, bringing a real sense of the past into our living rooms. The quaintly English surroundings of Wiltshire and the Cotswolds have become a favoured area for such dramas with their abundance of stately homes, picture-perfect villages and rolling countryside. And Bath itself can often be spotted as the backdrop in period dramas - its famous Royal Crescent most recently used in the much talked about series, Bridgerton. This special five day break captures the most popular and recognisable locations as we step back in time amid unspoilt landscapes and majestic country houses.

Your Excursions

FULL DAY: A full day in the Roman city of Bath. The city centre is compact and walkable, and here you will find the old Roman Baths, a magnificent abbey and many tempting shops! A stroll round the famous Royal Crescent and it is soon recognisable from many of your favourite dramas.

FULL DAY: This morning we visit Lacock. Famous for its picturesque streets, this finely preserved, National Trust protected town, has been widely used in period dramas, from Cranford to the hugely popular Pride and Prejudice. We continue through the Wiltshire countryside, passing through the newest 'Royal' town of Wootton Bassett and into Oxfordshire. Oxford itself has been the back drop to many popular TV dramas, including Inspector Morse.

FULL DAY: A full day excursion today as we tour into the Cotswold Hills to Tetbury. This attractive Cotswolds town has many specialty shops to explore before we visit Chavenage House portrayed as Trenwith in the recent Poldark series and as Candleford House in the drama Lark Rise to Candleford. Passing the source of the Thames, we continue to medieval Cirencester, with its bustling market square.
