Pembrokeshire Coastlines And The Best Of The Brecons 2022
5 Days | Half Board | by Coach
Highlights: Brecon Beacons National Park, Laugharne, Tenby, Pembrokeshire National Park, St David's, Brecon Mountain Railway, Cardigan, Cenarth Falls, Brecon Visitor Centre
The picturesque countryside and outstanding seascapes of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park hold a special place in all traveller’s hearts, combining quaint Welsh villages, meandering rivers and wide expanses of fine golden beaches. Our touring base is the historic market town of Carmarthen, on the banks of the River Towey. It is said to be the oldest town in Wales, with its narrow winding streets that thread between ancient buildings up to the ruins of the castle. From here we explore the delightful Pembrokeshire National Park and follow in the footsteps of Wales' most famous poet, Dylan Thomas - plus we’ve added a wonderful steam train ride through the rugged Brecon Beacons too!
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
FULL DAY: Through the superb Pembrokeshire Coast National Park we visit St David’s, the smallest 'city' in Britain. We continue to the old town of Cardigan
where the River Teifi flows into Cardigan Bay beneath the cliff-top hamlet of Gwbert-on- Sea, from where we explore more of the unspoilt coastline, before pausing on our return at Cenarth Falls.
FULL DAY: Our day starts in Laugharne, the former home of Wales' treasured poet, Dylan Thomas, before we reach the popular and thriving resort of Tenby with its sandy beaches and charming harbour. Here you have free time to relax and enjoy this pleasing gem on the Welsh coast.
FULL DAY: Today we tour into the hills and valleys of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Skirting the Black Mountains and passing through the small town of Llandovery, we reach the Brecon Visitor Centre. From here we pass Pen-Y-Fan and board the Brecon Mountain Railway, as it steams along the full length of the Taf Fechan Reservoir to Dol-y-Gaer.
